If you are thinking of applying for a job with Just Retirement, some of our employees have provided brief descriptions of what their day to day work entails and insights into what it is like to work for one of the fastest growing financial services companies in the UK.

Sarah Skillen, Internal Communications Officer

I joined Just Retirement in January 2008. What struck me from my first day was just how welcoming, friendly and helpful people were. This immediately put me at ease and made me feel part of the Company.

My role includes assisting and co-ordinating internal communication throughout Just Retirement. I oversee the company intranet and work with our Culture Team to deliver internal communication plans and representing the views of employees to senior management.

I also produce a quarterly company newsletter and any communication needs that come up on a day to day basis. I enjoy working at JR and feel the company is truly people focused, and this makes it a great place to work.

Francie Gaiger, Business Development Co-ordinator

When I came over from New Zealand in Aug 2006 I was offered a temporary contract at Just Retirement. In January 2007 I went back to New Zealand for my graduation and I came back to the UK in May when I was offered another temporary contract. I didn’t have to think twice! I knew the people and the company so I immediately fitted back in. I am now full time at Just Retirement.

My role involves organising IFA events and road shows, making sure all the literature and stands are where they should be and any other support that the sales team needs. The company has grown a lot since I have been here, but the people and the culture have remained the same. I enjoy Just Retirement and think it’s a great place to work.

Denise Avis, Quality Analyst

At the time of being offered a position as New Business Administrator at Just Retirement in June 2005 I was also considering another company’s offer. On reflection, I chose Just Retirement as it just felt right – I liked the environment and the atmosphere of a new and growing company and could see myself being a part of it!

In May 2008 I moved to join the Quality Assurance Team as a Quality Analyst. The team has been set up to ensure that best practice is adopted within Just Retirement's operational teams for all our customers across every procedure and process.

I believe in Just Retirement's cultural commitment to placing the customer at the heart of everything that we do. I have taken and passed several exams and the support network for ongoing personal development and the provision of training in general is second to none.

Gary Staples: Just Retirement Solutions Adviser

Before joining Just Retirement Solutions I was an Independent Financial Adviser providing the whole spectrum of advice. Rather than being a “jack of all trades”, I wanted to specialise and had dealt with Just Retirement on several occasions. As I had been very impressed by their staff and service, I had no hesitation in joining them as a specialist equity release adviser.

My role involves spending time with customers, establishing their current financial circumstances together with their current & future needs and aspirations. I derive great satisfaction from being able to help people make the right financial decisions that can ultimately be life changing.

I like working for Just Retirement Solutions because there is an excellent culture here where the staff’s views are genuinely valued. The company fully supports staff wishing to improve their knowledge and skills with relevant training. It's refreshing to work for a company that’s ethos is all about doing the right thing for the customer.
