Investments

Just Retirement’s financial investments include corporate bonds and deposits. The corporate bonds are managed by Robeco to meet credit quality limits defined by Just Retirement. These only permit Robeco to acquire investment grade bonds.

Of the Corporate Bonds and deposits held by the Group 99.5% are high quality investment grade securities.

The Group balance sheet at 30th June 2008 included financial investments
of £905.7m, up from £864.5m at 30th June 2007, a 56% increase.  

Just Retirement invests in mortgages sourced through its Equity Release business and these are funded exclusively from our annuity assets.

As an authorised life assurance company Just Retirement is also covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The scheme can pay compensation when an authorised company is unable or is likely to be unable to meet claims against it.
