Amid economic uncertainty and the threat of another recession, a significant number of Brits are worried about financing their retirement.
This is according to research conducted by advice website unbiased.co.uk, which asked people to discuss any monetary concerns they may currently have.
It was discovered 47 per cent of individuals are fretting about their funds more than they were six months ago.
While savings came at the top of the list of woes, personal retirement planning and pensions were in second place.
Over all, 29 per cent claimed they were worried about this aspect of their finances, with this figure rising to 38 per cent among those aged between 35 and 54.
While the number was 23 per cent for people between the ages of 18 and 34, 24 per cent of those aged over 55 gave the same answer.
Long-term care costs were next on the list of financial concerns, as this was a worry for 16 per cent of respondents to the survey. This was followed by mortgage arrangements, investments and saving for children.
It was also noted that 38 per cent of consumers looking for an independent financial adviser using unbiased.co.uk's 'find an IFA' search wanted help with arranging their money for later life.
This comes after Defaqto urged people to seek financial planning advice ready for retirement, as it is a particularly complex area and one a lot of Brits do not feel comfortable dealing with themselves.
The firm revealed although 75 per cent of individuals feel at ease making monetary decisions, they would ask for help in this area.
Chief executive at unbiased.co.uk Karen Barrett said: "Given the economic climate over the last few years, financial planning should be at the forefront of everyone's minds. Careful planning could make a real difference to both your current financial situation and also securing your future."
